Board of Directors
Bric is governed by an independent skills-based Board with directors being able to demonstrate skills and experience in social housing management, finance, community welfare, property development and procurement, law, social policy development, accounting, asset management, information and technology, and HR management. This is consistent with the Constitution and the Bric's Corporate Governance principles.

Julie Saunders - Chair
Julie is an urban planner and property specialist with over 25 years of experience working in diverse roles around the country.
She is currently a Director at Urbis and has very wide experience across various levels of government, the not-for-profit sector as well as in the private sector.
She started her career in town planning and has undertaken large scale master planning for communities across South East Queensland.
Julie has also undertaken roles involved in the reform of the planning system through her work with the Queensland State Government, advocacy work across the education sector through the Queensland Schools Planning Commission and as manager of large-scale development assessment teams in local government.
Julie was recently appointed by the Minister as the Chair for the Housing Supply Expert Panel and is Chair of the Queensland Chapter of Learning Environments
Australasia.
She joined Bric Housing as Chair in 2020.

Hiro Kawamata - Deputy Chair and Chair Tenant and Innovation Committee
Hiro brings over 25 years of experience in property market analysis and strategic asset management in the private, government and
not-for-profit sectors.
He has extensive experience in social housing management including eight years as Executive Director responsible for the management of the 60,000 Queensland state owned social housing dwellings in the Department of Housing and Public Works and acting Deputy Director-General in the Department of Communities managing social housing as well as disability services, child safety and other social service-based properties.
Hiro’s career experience includes roles as a property market research manager, a lecturer in a Masters Degree course in property economics and a manager in international class hotels.
Hiro is currently Group Manager - Property, in a not-for-profit organisation, and is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organisation’s property portfolio.
Hiro has been a Board member since 2018 and is Deputy Chair and Chair of the Tenancy and Innovation Committee.

Kate Raymond
Kate has over 20 years’ experience working within the construction industry, both as a construction lawyer in the private and public sectors and in senior executive public sector roles.
Currently working as the Senior Advisor with the Australian Constructors Association, prior to that Kate was the Assistant Commissioner (Service Trades and Regulatory) at the Queensland Building and Construction Commission. Kate has also had a lead role in establishing the contracts and procurement of many significant projects in Queensland including the Nation Building program of works. In addition, she has played a key role in policy development and legislative amendments to building and construction legislation in Queensland.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland with first-class honours and a university medal and an Arts Degree with a Government major.
Kate has been a Director since November 2021 and is a member of the Audit Finance and Risk Committee and Tenancy Innovation Committee.

Tim Murphy - Chair Audit, Finance and Risk Committee, Treasurer
Tim is a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years’ experience as a finance professional, spanning industries including Government,
manufacturing, and financial services.
Tim’s most recent role was that of CFO for Sunwater, prior to that Tim was CFO for the Queensland Building and Construction Commission and spent five years as an Executive Director and CFO for The Public Trustee of Queensland.
Tim has been a Board member since 2020 and is Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee.

Gillian Brown - Chair People Committee
Gillian, through a series of longstanding board appointments has a proven track record of delivering excellence in strategic thinking, financial management and legal knowledge with commercial acumen.
Gillian was a Partner at a leading Australian law firm for over 20 years, including three years as the first female Chair of the firm. Gillian’s legal experience included advising across the entire lifecycle of financing projects and corporate transactions.
Gillian is a director of QIC Limited, Australian Rail Track Corporation Limited and the Queensland Community Foundation and formerly a director of the Queensland Treasury Corporation and DBCT Holdings Pty Ltd.
Gillian has been a Board member since 2020 and is Chair of the People Committee.

Joanne Jessop
Joanne is a skilled and experienced director, having held roles across a broad range of NFP organisations for over 10 years.
Jo has leadership skills and expertise across
primary health care and human services sectors including commercial and NFPs.
She brings strong customer focus, values-based decision making, strategic expertise and a creative and innovative approach to social challenges. Jo has a passion for initiatives that change health and social outcomes for people across our communities.
Jo has been CEO of Multicap Limited, a high needs disability service provider, since 2006.
Jo has an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business to further her knowledge around Social Entrepreneurship and Leading Change and Organisational Renewal.
Jo was one of three inaugural members of the Queensland Independent
Remuneration Tribunal. She is currently a director of Ability First Australia. Jo was a Director of National Disability Services and Chair of the Queensland State NDS Committee from 2015 until 2020. She is a former Director of Brisbane South Primary
Health Network, CheckUp, lnala Primary Care and G8EHR Ltd, and is an alumni of the Social Leadership Australia program.
Jo has been a Director since June 2021 and is a member of the People Committee.

Craig Brennan - Chief Executive Officer
Craig was appointed as CEO of Bric Housing in July 2019.
Prior to that, Craig was the CEO of Pacific Link Housing – a Tier 1 registered community housing provider in NSW. Craig brings a wealth of housing sector experience and an impressive track record of success as a results-focussed and energetic leader.

Jane West - Chief Operating Officer and
Executive Manager Housing Services
Jane is an experienced housing professional with policy, regulatory and project experience from senior management roles within government and housing providers in Queensland and UK.

Eoin Quinlivan - General Manager Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer
Eoin is an internationally experienced executive with a strong finance and commercial background and extensive experience working in the private, public and not for profit sectors in Ireland, United Kingdom, United States of America and here in Australia.

Clare Phythian - Manager, Governance, Compliance
and Business Improvement & Company Secretary
Clare has experience working in the housing sector in Australia, New Zealand and the UK in organisations varying from small and large NFPs, a peak-body representative training organisation and
Government. Clare’s experience includes executive management, operational management and business improvement.

Ben Bransgrove - Executive Manager Asset Services
Ben is an experienced asset, construction, and property development professional having successfully led highly functioning teams and delivered high-value projects in the private, not for profit, and government sectors across Australia and New Zealand.
Over the last 16 years, he has pursued his passion for the community housing sector, working with Tier 1 and 2 community housing providers, and government overseeing asset management,
property refurbishment and development projects.
